S.W.A.G.:She Exudes Peace

A submissive wife adorned with grace, is one who lives out the very fruits of the spirit. The grace she receives from her Lord and Saviour gives her the strength and courage she needs to then develop and exude each fruit herself.

exude:
to make apparent by mood or behavior

synonyms:
radiate, show, display, exhibit

Exude also means to be released through pores as sweat from the body or sap from trees; to come out gradually in drops, ooze out; exhibit in abundance.

Because a gracious wife is so filled with Jesus, she oozes the fruits of His Spirit, the very nature of God.

Today she exudes peace. She is a slow, constant drip of peace.

She is peace filled,

               peace-loving,

                       peace-maker.

A peace-filled woman solidly hopes in the Lord. She is not easily swayed by the storms of life. When things go wrong, she trusts in Him. When life is good, she trusts in Him. She has full confidence that her God is faithful. As a result, her spirit rests. She is filled with an unmatchable quiet confidence, that comes with knowing He is in control.

"You will keep in perfect peace
him whose mind is steadfast,
because he trusts in You."
~Isaiah 26:3~

A peace loving woman knows it is honorable in all people to avoid strife. (Pr.20:3)

She will not demand her way when things don't go as she expected. Rather she graciously seeks to understand the situation from the other's standpoint. She carefully considers her actions, thinking before speaking. She is not hasty, loud or boisterous in with her words or conduct.

"It is a mans honor to avoid strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel."
~Proverbs 20:3~

A wise and virtuous woman does not begrudge her husband, feeling ill or resentful toward him. She forgives quickly and before forgiveness is asked, always forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. (Phil. 3:13)

She is peacemaker, in that she does not contentiously object to her husband or remind him of past wrongs. Rather she gently defers, seeking to understand his plans and needs the judges wisely her words and actions.

Solomon wrote:

"It is better to live on a corner of a roof
than share a house with a quarrelsome wife."
~Proverbs 21:9~

A quarrelsome wife has no peace, brings no peace, loves not peace. She speaks harshly, acts hastily, is selfish and prideful. She dishonors her Lord and her husband, disgracing herself and her household.

"Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads
to peace and to mutual edification."
~Romans 14:19~

"Honor one another above yourselves....
as far as it depends on you
live at peace with everyone."
~Romans 12:9,18~

  1. So true Kaylene. Not easy but such a blessing. I think when we keep in mind that a strong healthy marriage is more important than winning . . . peace becomes easier. Of course, it's all grace received from God and give to those around us. Thanks for visiting the Blessing Counters Linkup.
