S.W.A.G.: She Exudes Kindness

If you are just now joining this series of posts exploring the good and noble characteristics of a godly wife, WELCOME!!! I hope you will find encouragement here and in the links throughout.

Today, we are learning what it means to exude, or ooze out, kindness to our husbands, even when we don't feel like it, or don't feel like they deserve it.

A Submissive Wife Adorned with Grace, is one who is kind and compassionate to her husband.

He needs to know she is his cheerleader; that she is strong and capable to stand beside him when life is hard.

He can know she is that woman when she is kind to him.

Out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. (Matt.12:35) She demonstrates and proves her kindheartedness when she does not allow unwholesome talk come out of her mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs. (Eph. 4:29)

According to their needs.....

A grace adorned wife has a genuine concern for her husbands physical, mental and spiritual needs.

She shows compassion for her husband's physical well-being by cooking wholesome food, rubbing his sore back, making his home comfortable and his bed warm.

She shows compassion for his mental well-being by reducing unnecessary stresses and pressures of life as much as within her power. Her power lies within the words she speaks, kindly acts toward her husband, not demanding, but attentively interested in his life, smiling, laughing, singing...

She sets a temperature of kindness in her home, knowing her husband thrives well in a gentle, loving environment.

She shows compassion for  his spiritual well-being in that she speaks God's truth into all situations, not gossiping or speaking of others in a bad light. She diligently prays for him. She does not take over his spiritual leadership. Neither does she seek to be his conscience by well planted comments and questions when there is a lack thereof. She simply takes to praying always, and praising him for any bumbling half-hearted efforts.

When a wife blesses her husband with kindness, she in turn receives joy, strength, understanding, wisdom and peace, knowing her decorum has been irreproachable.

Through her kindness, she makes herself a woman of inner beauty which outshines any amount of wrinkles! (a.k.a., wisdom lines) smile!!!

Yes, a swag of kindness is for any wife after God's own heart.

  3. Being a wife is a wonderful thing, and it is so important to remember how to be kind. The world will try to convince us to stand up for ourselves, be strong, don't give in, stand your ground, and never compromise, but kindness, love, empathy, and goodness will make a marriage strong. It doesn't mean we are lost, it means we find ourselves in goodness. Thank you!
