What God Says When We Feel Annoyed

"A fool shows his annoyance at once,
but a prudent man overlooks an insult."
~ Proverbs 12:16 ~

"saith the LORD of hosts;
therefore take heed to your spirit,
that ye deal not treacherously."
~ Malachi 2:16 ~ KJV

"Therefore, as God's chosen people,
 holy and dearly loved,
clothe yourselves with compassion,
kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
Bear with one another
and forgive whatever grievances
you may have against one another...."
~ Colossians 3:12-13 ~

"Be completely humble and gentle;
be patient, bearing with one another in love."
~ Ephesians 4:2 ~

"be clear minded and self-controlled
so that you can pray."
~ 1 Peter 4:7 ~

"be temperate,
worthy of respect,
and sound in faith,
in love and in endurance."
~ Titus 2:2 ~

Sometimes the encouragement we need has to come straight from God's word for it to really speak to our hearts. While adding our own words can be helpful and encouraging, there are times when reading another's thoughts just adds to the noise in our head.

I believe this happens because what we really need is for our Creator's voice to speak directly into our hearts. We need Him. He is the only one who can fill that God-shaped hole in our heart.

His word is all powerful, all healing and wholly dependable.

Mine aren't.

This is part of a long series of posts focused directly on what God says when we feel or need a certain thing.

Just His word.

Just for you.

Read them. Pray them. Write them. Add a few of your favorites. I trust however you use them, He will provide what you need.

  1. His Word is enough. At a time when opinion is being tossed around as truth . . . this is strong. I'm going to write about the words we use online next week. It's something I've found discouraging lately. Thanks Kaylene! Many blessings to you!

  2. Dealing with reality in a spiritual Wording portion. I enjoy being buried in the Word of the Lord. It's an everyday, every moment time of life. Thank you.

  3. Thank you for linking up with Susannah and I!!!

I love that you are letting God's Word speak for itself!!! :) Another Scripture that comes to my mind often when I am annoyed is James 1:19-20 and then I just pray for God to take my annoyance away and produce in righteousness in me and in them if it should please Him. :)

  4. Gulp. These are always great verses to remember!

  5. God's Word is powerful. He tells it just the way it is.
Following you over from Unite and glad I did!
    Caring through Christ, ~ linda

  6. God's Word is amazing! No matter what I go to the Bible to study... there are verses that can be applied... the more I learn His Word... the more I realize that I have so much more to learn. Thank you for sharing this. :)

  7. Augh. What a timely reminder! Thanks for linking this up with the Faith and Fellowship blog hop!
